The company started in 1980 and has continued to dominant the fly rod marketplace with high quality fly rods, reels, and accessories for the discriminating flyfisherman. The distribution of SAGE products are through specialty fly shops and high end fishing stores throughout the world. SAGE distributes to 27different countries worldwide with approximately 450 dealers in the US. All rods are manufactured here on Bainbridge Island since the company started 20 years ago. SAGE employees 135 people and have sales of approximately $15 million. SAGE is currently owned by the Joshua Green Corporation which is based in Seattle.
